nina mouritzen (b. 1980) is a New York based Danish photographer. She worked as an apprentice for Mary Ellen Mark for several years while simultaneously creating her own projects and debuted with a solo show in 2003 at The Room, NY entitled “In Transit…”. She has since exhibited her work at the National Gallery of Denmark; Chashama, NY; Fort Collins Center for Fine Art Photography; The Bravo Center, Oaxaca; Milk Gallery, NY; and is a longtime collaborator and documentarian for the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Mouritzen’s subject matter and projects are rooted in a passion and curiosity for music, performance art, street life and self-identifying communities.
